KL15 Heritage speaker characteristics

Bandwidth : 20 -20 000 HZ

Efficiency : 96dB/1w/1m

Power rating : 150 watts

3 way system crossing over at 600Hz and 8000Hz. The speaker have been designed and are built in France in our workshop.

Bass

15 inches custom woofer designed and built by Supravox in France.

Made in France very light paper cone insures very fast transient and natural sound (particularly important on voices).

Powerfull central alnico magnet

These characterics allow for impressive dynamics and low distortion even in the deep bass region.

Midrange :

Horn is custom built in Germany, material is resin chosen for its low resonance (no ringing at all). This horn is inspired from the famous Klangfilm Eurodyn model from the 1950’s (same expansion mode).

Compression driver : 2 inch throat, Neodynium ring magnet insures very high magnetic field,  a 76.3 mm (3”) voice coil diameter wound with edge-wound copper clad aluminum wire on a high temperature polymer former, with beryllium diaphragms mounted on a heat stabilized polymer suspension that greatly reduces second- and third –order harmonic distortion,

Berrylium offers one of the best stiffness/weight ratio. The result is a subjectively very detailed and musical presentation.

Tweeter :

Custom made alnico tweeter designed and built in Germany by Lamar Audio, high efficiency, very dynamic and natural sound.

Crossover :

Relatively simple 12dB design for both crossover frequencies.

High quality components include :

Jantzen capacitors and air-gap coils

Attenuation switch available on both mid range and tweeter drivers : 3 positions : -1dB – 0 - +1dB. Preferred position is the middle position (0).

Cabling : High quality Duelung

Cabinet :

Reinforced birch plywood.

High-Precision Craftsmanship: Made in France

Each Supravox loudspeaker inherits expertise born in the 1950s. From the iconic 215 RTF 64 to today's innovations, our loudspeakers are entirely hand-assembled in our workshop just outside Paris. A French standard of perfection that defies time to deliver pure musical emotion.

  • The Artisan's Touch

At the heart of our factory on the outskirts of Paris, each voice coil is hand-wound with micrometric tension. We use ultra-light supports and high-purity conductors to minimize moving mass. It is this extreme lightness that gives our loudspeakers their legendary responsiveness and their ability to reveal the finest details.

  • The Hand and the Spirit

Each loudspeaker is a unique piece, assembled by craftsmen whose expertise has been passed down for decades. The precision of the centering and the tension of the suspensions are adjusted by touch, a sensitivity that no machine can replicate. This artisanal assembly guarantees perfect fluidity of movement and exceptional longevity.

  • Exponential Paper Cones

Our cones are made from a proprietary recipe of long-fiber paper, manually processed to achieve an ideal balance of rigidity and damping. The exponential profile, pioneered by Supravox, ensures homogeneous sound diffusion. The result is an organic timbre and strikingly realistic vocal presence.

  • Magnetic Alchemy

Beyond the simple magnet, we master energy. In our factory on the outskirts of Paris, we forge Alnico 5 motors and Field Coil systems capable of saturating the air gap with absolute precision. This controlled power offers lightning-fast dynamics and almost zero distortion, hallmarks of Supravox's high sensitivity.

  • Signal Purity

Perfection often comes from subtraction. By designing full-range loudspeakers capable of covering most of the spectrum, we eliminate the need for crossover filters. The signal travels directly from your amplifier to the cone, preserving perfect phase coherence and a holographic soundstage of complete transparency.

  • Tested for Eternity

Each unit leaving our workshops undergoes a rigorous testing protocol: frequency analysis, impedance measurement, and tactile inspection of the excursion. But the final verdict belongs to the human ear. Each loudspeaker is validated by our technicians, ensuring that your investment will remain an exceptional instrument for decades to come.
